Prov- 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
Ps 126:2 There was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among
the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
I understand there is s time for sadness and brokenness. But, the Bible also speaks a Joy and Laughter.
This notion we as Christians should walk around in this attitude of brokenness all the time is something
based on a “works” attitude. Yes, we need to know where our Joy comes from- Yes we should
acknowledge Him for His grace and awesomeness in our lives…But to walk around with this sack cloth
and ashes attitude all the time appears to me as one who just wants attention verse sharing the great
things God is doing in our live and Rejoicing with Him. Yes there are times in life where it seems like
everything is messed up- Our health, our kids, our spouse, our finances etc… But then we stop evaluate
the challenges adjust what needs to be adjusted. Look to the Lord. Then rejoice with Him as we see His
Hand at work. I know of someone right now who is a battle…Yes its hard.. Yes they struggle…But when
they really start to talk about the challenges…. They say “I’m not going to let the devil win. I know God
will see me through and give me the strength to do what God has called me to do!” The pull up their
boot straps and move forward rejoicing they can serve the Lord. Friends it OK to laugh. I’m so blessed
I have a church family that accepts me for who I am and laughs with me as we serve the Lord. I think
of my family “ ROE’s”—When we are together there is laughter…Belly laughs…At and with each other.
It’s our love langue. We may not see each other as a group for years. It may be at a funeral, wedding or
someone’s graduation…Where ever it is be sure there will be laughter. Its ok find time to Laugh, Love
and Live. Let make the world look at us and say…. Look what GREAT things the Lord has done for them!
