Where Does God Fit In?

In News by Steve Roe

2 Corth 6:16- And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are

the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in

them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Why is it that we “Fit God in”? Shouldn’t He be in all the time? I hear it a lot how

people want to serve God and do this for God or that for God. Then watch as

they worship other “idols”. If you’re a child of God then He shouldn’t “fit in” your

day- He should be your day. He so desires to have a real relationship with you.

Think about what you “fit in” your day. Scary to think that some days we don’t

even fit in God. The reason is that we don’t really want Him to be part of our day.

Say what you want. Make all the excuses you can. I have heard and even used

many of them myself. But the reality is that we if we are truly Born Again with the

Spirit of God we are His Temple. Yet, we have free will and if we allow our flesh

to control and are honest with ourselves we can see many idols that control our

thinking which in turn controls our actions. We can make all kinds of reasons for

not truly serving or selling out to God. I think of Peter and the gang as after they

have seen Christ die and rise again. After they had spent some time with Him seen

the nail scars…After that…they still go fishing (back to their old life). How many

of us at times seem to go back to the “Old life”? What idols do we then start

agreeing with? I urge you to look at what you have allowed back in your life that is

keeping you from allowing God to dwell and walk with you.
